About Marcus
Marcus is the sole owner and Executive Director of MLee Therapy and The Children’s Therapy SPOT. He moved to Austin in 2000 from El Paso, TX. He immediately fell in love with the city and its vibe. When not working, you can probably find Marcus doing yard work, spending time with his better half Marian, his daughter Madeleine, their Miniature Schnauzer, Maggi (yes, without the “e”), or perusing the aisles of Home Depot. Marcus is an avid fan of all things Longhorns and can be spotted at several Longhorn sporting events throughout the year.
Marcus’s spark and passion for providing high-quality therapy to the children and families of Austin stem from his own experience with having a sibling with a disability. His brother Joshua, who has Down Syndrome, still serves as the catalyst for all Marcus does to help provide compassionate and quality therapy services, to this day!!
University of Texas
Marcus graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders. While at UT, he was an active member of Phi Kappa Theta, the Hispanic Business Students Association, and the National Student Speech-Language Hearing Association. Upon completion of his degree, Marcus began working as an SLP-Assistant at From the Heart Therapy under the supervision of Martha Adams.
University of Texas at El Paso
Marcus earned a Master’s of Science in Speech-Language Pathology degree from the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP). While at UTEP Marcus participated in several research studies involving bilingual language acquisition and mild TBI (concussions). Additionally, Marcus was the Clinic Coordinator for the Concussion Management Clinic, served on the Executive Council for the Texas Speech-Language-Hearing Association, and was awared the honor of being selected as Grand Marshall for the Graduate School of Health Sciences.
Owner / Director - MLee Therapy
In 2013, Marcus purchased MLee -SLP from his long-time mentor and colleague Martha Adams. Today he is proud to continue to the tradition of providing Austin with high-quality, compassionate services. Marcus is dedicated to upholding the high standards of service that he has grown to know and love at MLee Therapy. In 2022, Marcus opened The Children’s Therapy SPOT at 4 Points to better serve the children of Austin!
